After you create the Firebase project and paste config into js/firebase-config.js, create one Auth user (email/password), deploy rules, register as admin, then seed content.
Seeding writes dogs, people, news, page text, and site settings from the current site defaults. Existing docs with the same IDs are overwritten for settings/pages; dogs/people/news are added only if those collections are empty. You must be registered in the admins collection before writes succeed.
